My Secret? Olay Regenerist Multi-Sculpting Cream

I've always looked pretty young for my age but soon after my 40th birthday, I noticed that my skin was changing. I was losing my glow. I was dealing with little random dry patches, a very oily T-zone and mini acne breakouts that I hadn't seen since my teens. I couldn't seem to link these new symptoms to a change in my diet or a new product I was using. Then it hit me, the change my skin was going through was very normal for women over 40.

A lot of women in their 40's experience dryness, an oilier T-zone, and a return of acne. These symptoms are usually the effect of hormonal changes related to premenopause and menopause. Stress and having a sweet tooth can help to bring on adult acne too. I've been using Olay's Regenerist Multi-Sculpting Cream for a while and it works for me. It gives my skin just the right amount of hydration and has reduced the acne breakouts to a minimum. It's exactly what my skin needs and has become a regular item in my stash of skin care products.

I'm a firm believer of doing research before putting a product anywhere on my body. I always ask for samples and if I can't get one, I read online reviews of products used by people with similar symptoms. Also, when I come across women with beautiful skin and hair, I ask them what products they're using. The key is finding out if anyone has had a negative reaction to the product and if anyone is warning against the use of it. What are the pros and cons? What worked and what didn't? Is it affordable? Would they buy it again?

My research led me to Olay's Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream. I've been a user of Olay products for years. For example, Olay's Total Effects was my go-to moisturizer from my late 20's right through to my late 30's. After that, I noticed that I needed more hydration than Total Effects was delivering. Instead of sticking with Olay products, I tried many different brands of moisturizers and serums, some pretty expensive ones too. None of them seemed to deliver the total package I was looking for. Then it dawned on me, if the Olay line works for me, it's time to go back. I've been hooked on Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream ever since.

Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting cream is award winning and has been included in most lists of best moisturizers and skin care products that deal with the signs of aging. It's even won against moisturizers that cost over $400. Regenerist Micro-Sculpting cream is one of the leading moisturizers for women over 30 and it cost less than $40 and, it's hard to believe but Olay offers a money back guarantee. Start the car!

Olay boasts that this cream contains amino-peptide and B3 complex to deliver deep hydration to significantly minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Olay also  says that it will visibly lift areas probe to sagging and "unveil a smoother re-sculpted and younger looking complexion" without clogging your pores. Olay's site claims that not only will it reveal new skin in only 5 days, it:
  • Contains oil-vitamin complex
  • Replenishes skin's moisture barrier
  • Helps retain skin's youthful surface contours
  • Reduces the appearance of wrinkles
  • Keeps more moisture at the surface
  • Regenerates skin's surface
  • Accelerates surface skin turnover
Before I share my thoughts on this product I want you know that this and all of my product reviews are my honest feedback.

My Review

I was impressed from the first time I used Olay Regenerist Multi-Sculpting Cream. I tried it one night as I was getting ready for bed. It immediately softened my skin, leaving it silky and hydrated. The next morning, I could see and feel the difference. My skin felt even smoother when I applied the cream again in the morning. I also skipped my primer before applying my makeup and it worked out well. This moisturizer proved itself worthy of existence by keeping my skin hydrated and keeping the oil at bay.

The winning quality of this product is that it combats adult acne, something that many woman experience in their late 30's. I could see the difference by the end of the first week, the tiny random bumps, blackheads, and flakes from the dry patches had been reduced significantly. Please keep in mind that if you are experiencing breakouts, check the makeup you're using or you're hair products as their ingredients could possibly cause irritation. This product does contain parabens, so if you're looking for a product with organic ingredients, this is not the one for you.

Who should use this cream? It's great if you don't have time for a multi-step me. I have learnt that I do not have the right level of commitment or time for toner, serum, moisturizer, etc. I'm a girl who likes to keep it simple, wash my face, apply my moisturizer, do my makeup and run out the door. I make sure to squeeze in a clay mask once a week to give my face a good cleanse, other than that, my skin care process is pretty straight forward.

Before, I go any further, I have to also give a shout out to the Micro-Sculpting Serum. It has same effect as the cream but a lighter consistency than the moisturizer.

If you're looking for that one easy go to moisturizer to start your day and give you back the radiance and the hydration you're missing, I recommend Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting cream or serum.

Give it a try and let me know what you think. Come back soon.

Parkas for 2015 Winter in Toronto

2015's fall/winter in Toronto has been pretty mild but the cold, snowy days of winter have started. If you don't have a good winter coat yet, I suggest you get out there and find one ASAP. Finding the right coat at a good price is not easy but I think I can help.

Check post, updated in 2018, on where I've find warm winter coats or parkas in Toronto.

Here are some places where I think you may get lucky...

From Curly to Straight in Less Than 1 Hour

My hair has grown a lot since I stopped relaxing. The transition took a long time, about two years, so I'm not about to damage it again. Wearing my hair natural has helped my hair to gain strength and thickness. But sometimes I just want to wear it straight and that means being careful not to damage it.

You've been sending me question about blowouts and how I go from curly to straight without doing severe damage. When it comes to hair growth, I have two key pieces of advice for you. Make sure to give your natural hair moisture and go the extra mile to protect it from heat. That's how I achieved the results in the before and after growth pic below.

These results are all me. I haven't been to a hairstylist in a very long time. Not because I can't find a good one, there are many talented stylists in Toronto. I just prefer to do my hair myself myself. Actually, anyone that knows me will tell you that I LOVE♥ doing my own hair. It comes out exactly how I want it to.
